Adamantia Stamou

Research Interests

Adamantia Stamou (Dr. Eng, MBA) is a senior researcher at STEcon Lab (Services, Technologies and Economics), Athens University of Economics and Business, Department of Informatics. Her duties include research and project management in European Research Projects related to 6G networks and Blockchain, performing state-of-the-art interdisciplinary research in the intersection of economics, digital information and technology. Adamantia is currently engaged in research at the intersection of cutting-edge digital infrastructure and sustainable systems, with a focus on 6G networks, energy efficiency, incentive mechanisms, blockchain technologies, oracle networks, and reputation mechanisms. As part of this work, Adamantia actively contributes to two EU-funded projects: EXIGENCE (https://projectexigence.eu/), a Horizon Europe initiative dedicated to reducing energy consumption and carbon footprint across ICT services in 6G ecosystems through comprehensive measurement, optimization, and incentivization strategies; and BUILDCHAIN (https://buildchain-project.eu/), which utilizes blockchain and decentralized knowledge graphs to transform building lifecycle management, emphasizing digital building logbooks, energy efficiency, and resilience via data-driven decision-making and smart renovation workflows. She also has participated in various START-UP competitions, winning prizes both as a participant and as a Mentor.

  • PhD (October 2019) under full scholarship from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece,
    School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Division of Communication, Electronic and
    Information Engineering in cooperation with NCSR Demokritos, PhD Thesis: “Connectivity Management
    for HetNets based on the Principles of Autonomicity and Context-Awareness”.
  • MBA (2014), under full honorary scholarship with specialization in Knowledge Management, Glyndwr -
    Wrexham University, UK.
  • Informatics and Telecommunications Engineer (2011), Master Equivalent, University of Western
    Macedonia, Greece. Master Thesis in cooperation with CTTC (Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions
    de Cataluña), and UPC (Technical University of Catalonia), Barcelona, Spain, Institute of
    Telecommunications: “Energy-Efficiency Evaluation of a Medium Access Control Protocol for
    Cooperative ARQ”. The thesis resulted to a research paper, gaining the “Best Paper Award” at IEEE ICC
    2011.
